Korang semua tahu tak apa fungsi buah pinggang kita?
DALAM perubatan Cina, buah pinggang diibaratkan sebagai 'ibu pada segala cecair di dalam badan' dan daripada situ, wujudlah pula 'Yin dan Yang’ Manakala perubatan barat pula mengistilahkan fungsi buah pinggang sama seperti Cina cuma ia lebih khusus lagi.
Buah pinggang melakukan proses utama untuk mengekalkan keseimbangan kimia dalam cecair tubuh kita (proses keseimbangan ini dinamakan hemeostasis). Ia juga membersihkan sel kimia yang tidak diperlukan di dalam tubuh. Proses ini memastikan darah kita hanya mengandungi campuran garam galian dan air yang cukup serta mengekalkan tahap asid-alkali di dalam cecair tubuh. Dengan berfungsi sebagai bahan penapis, buah pinggang memastikan bahan yang tidak diperlukan tubuh dikeluarkan dalam bentuk air kencing.

Buah pinggang boleh rosak kerana beberapa penyakit. Antaranya ialah - :
- 1. Keturunan - batu karang
- 2. Jangkitan
- 3. Kerosakan disebabkan penyakit seperti darah tinggi
- 4. Diabetes mellitus
- 5. Rosak kerana terlalu banyak mengambil ubat atau beberapa sebab yang tidak diketahui.
- 6. Usia yang meningkat
Penyakit buah pinggang sukar difahami. Ia menyerang orang dewasa dan kanak-kanak sama ada orang itu sihat atau tidak atau bagaimana corak hidup seseorang.
Kalau kita tak jaga buah pinggang ni,
macam-macam boleh terjadi...
dan Kalau buah pinggang tu dah rosak...
macam2 komplikasi yang lain pulak akan datang...
Jika buah pinggang rosak teruk dan tidak boleh berfungsi walaupun mengikuti diet khusus, dialisis diperlukan, sama ada terus-menerus atau sehingga penderma buah pinggang ditemui.

9 March from 1 Litre of tears drama...
Based on a true story, One Litre of Tears is about the life story Kitou Aya (1962-1988) a girl who had an incurable disease called Spinocerebellar Degeneration Disease (also known as SCA type 2; spinocerebellar ataxia type 2)at a young age of 15. Although the girl in the drama - Ikeuchi Aya, lived in the 21st century, her character was based on Kitou Aya's life, how she struggled and fought her disease and how she wrote her deepest thoughts until the last day she could hold a pen. Before she died, her writings were published including the poems she wrote while she is staying in a school for the disabled. This gave new hopes to people who suffers the same disease as she did and soon Aya received letters of appreciation and thanks from those people. At the age of 25, she succumbed herself into a sleep where she could no longer feel any pain.
Ichi Rittoru no Namida is a heart-warming drama that will make people happy for the simple fact that they are alive, and will give hope to those who suffers from diseases and will make them think positive about living instead of giving up easily.
I give this drama two-thumbs up!
